Almost every Atlanta cleaning company offers two main service types: a standard clean and a deep clean. The distinction is real but poorly explained, which leads to homeowners either paying for more than they need or booking a standard clean and being disappointed by what's left undone.
What a standard clean includes
A standard (or "maintenance") clean assumes the home is already in reasonable shape and is designed to keep it that way. Typical scope: dusting visible surfaces, vacuuming carpets and rugs, mopping hard floors, wiping countertops, cleaning bathrooms (toilets, sinks, tubs, mirrors), cleaning kitchen surfaces, taking out trash, and making beds. A standard clean on a 3-bedroom home takes roughly 2–3 hours for a two-person crew.
What a deep clean adds
A deep clean addresses everything a standard clean intentionally skips: baseboards, door frames, light switches, ceiling fans, inside cabinets, inside appliances (on request), window sills, behind furniture, grout, and heavy-scale buildup in bathrooms and kitchens. A deep clean on the same 3-bedroom home takes 4–6 hours and costs roughly 1.5–2.5× the standard price. (See our full Atlanta pricing guide for exact ranges.)
Which do you need?
Book a deep clean if: it's been more than 3 months since a professional cleaned your home; you just moved in or are moving out; you're preparing for a sale or showing; you're recovering from illness, construction, or a major life event; or you're hiring a cleaning service for the first time.
A standard clean is enough if: you've had a recent deep clean (within the last 2–3 months) and are keeping the home on a weekly or biweekly recurring schedule.
